Angie Kim is New York-based artist exploring the human form through texture, abstraction, and sculpture. Her work blurs the line between the body’s interior and exterior, creating thought-provoking, immersive pieces. Her work primarily uses digital tools. Through digital assistance, she loves to capture those precious and cherishable moments in mundane life that often go unnoticed. She mostly focuses on scenes of daily life from the city and nature, to the intimate and tranquil. Her paintings highlight the mundane moments of our daily lives which are deeply woven into the fabric of our lives.
Angie holds a BFA in Sculpture from Ewha Womans University and an MFA from Pratt Institute (2024). Her work delves into the human body, blending its natural beauty with thought-provoking, unsettling elements to explore themes of movement, selfhood, and existence.
Using materials like nylon, spray foam, and fabric, Angie transforms everyday elements into extraordinary forms, embracing imperfections and challenging traditional norms.
